FAST NUCES Admission & Merit Criteria 2026

FAST Computing Programs

The current FAST-NUCES undergraduate Computing category includes BS Artificial Intelligence, BS Computer Science, BS Cyber Security, BS Data Science, and BS Software Engineering.

Eligibility for Computing Programs

  • At least 60% marks in SSC (Matric) or equivalent.
  • At least 50% marks in HSSC or equivalent.
  • Mathematics must have been studied at HSSC or equivalent level.
  • Pre-medical students may apply to Computing programs if they have passed additional Mathematics or are awaiting its result.

Accepted Admission Tests

For Computing programs, FAST-NUCES currently lists three admission test routes:

  • FAST-NUCES admission test
  • SAT
  • NTS NAT-IE or NAT-ICS

FAST Computing Merit Formula

The current FAST-NUCES Computing selection criteria use:

  • Admission Test: 50%
  • HSSC / equivalent: 40%
  • SSC / equivalent: 10%

Example

If a student's admission-test percentage is 80%, HSSC percentage is 85%, and SSC percentage is 90%, the weighted merit would be:

(80 × 0.50) + (85 × 0.40) + (90 × 0.10) = 83.00%

This is only an example of applying the published weightage. It is not a predicted admission cutoff.

How HSSC Marks Are Considered

FAST states that HSSC weightage is calculated using the applicable academic result available when the merit list is compiled. Depending on the candidate's situation, this can include HSSC Part I and II, HSSC Part I when Part II is unavailable, or IBCC equivalence marks for A-Level/O-Level qualifications.

Admission Process

  1. Review the current program eligibility requirements.
  2. Select the applicable admission-test route.
  3. Submit the online application through the official FAST admission process.
  4. Complete the required test and admission formalities.
  5. Check the official merit list and follow the university's instructions if selected.

Important Note About Merit Cutoffs

FAST states that merit cutoff marks are determined by the university. Therefore, the published weightage should not be treated as a guaranteed admission percentage or cutoff.
